SQ played in a band many moons ago! E flat alto sax. :-)

  3. slyhaze

Good morning crappers! SQ…played that also in the marching band long, long ago as well as the bass clarinet.

  4. SusieQ

Sad to see a lot of school’s are doing away with their music departments. And Physical Education is only one day a week.
Hey slyhaze, maybe we could start a TFC marching band. I have my sax tuned and ready to go just need some new reeds. :-) Anyone else willing to join?

  5. crispycritter

Hello and a beautiful, blessed day to all…… I too play the sax …lot of fun and relaxation!!!!!! After today, GIANTS ! 10/1

  6. munchies

    That is, if’n ya’ll want me….

  7. SusieQ

Glad to have everyone joining the Band Wagon, we will play indoors when the weathers bad. :-)

  8. Julie

Good morning all!! We are fortunate enough to have a fantastic Marching band which both of the twins play in, (clarinet and French horn) and PE requirements, every day for a minimum of two years. Go Arkansas schools!!! Granted, they practically froze to death last Friday, but hey, they were out there. Have a blessed day and I’ll see y’all later!!!

  9. nate

Dirty Dozen Brass band has the best tuba player ever! Tubas rule!

  10. lizard

    One time in band camp….lol

  11. I am the ONE

I can play eleven musical instruments. Not all the same time:) What kind of music does the tfc band play? I will not participate in punk, opera or anything that demeans.

  12. I am the ONE

Was anyone successful in obtaining a music poster?

  13. Travis

I almost wish that I still had my Trumpet I played (6th grade thru Sophomore years) but sold it in ‘76 because I was tired of marching. To be honest though I didn’t really play that much, I kept one eye on the drum section because two of the prettiest girls in school played snare drums.

I do have an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar with small amp.

I agree with ONE, no punk stuff.

When it submits, the form added a check mark and ‘thanks’ note above the field for first name. Otherwise it shows the form as you entered info.

  14. Chellie

OMG…Geezers…what about The Clash, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop & The Stooges…Green Day? The Ramones song ‘I Wanna Be Sedated’ Still kicks @$$! The old punk stuff ruled, but I did grow up in the ’80’s, so maybe it’s all just what you’re exposed to. Oh, well :)

  15. Chellie

Click on my name & you get to my MySpace page. I uploaded 5 of my fave punk songs onto my profile music player. C’mon….give ‘em a listen…I bet you may even know a few, & might even like ‘em. LOL ;)

  16. I am the ONE

    Chellie,
I’ll just bet that you have a safety pin in your eyebrow, huh? How those sounds came to be known as music is beyond my ability to understand. It is sooooo violent. Please understand, my intention is NOT to pass judgement, but to express an opinion… unless it is still true that I am not allowed to have one.
Yes, I am a geezer & very proud of it, as folks don”t get to be old without doing something right. In fact, I have just joined the old farts club.
As I said, I play a wide variety of instruments. I have played as part of several groups and genres. From electric guitar in a rock band to jazz piano to celtic lap harp & bogdrhan- an irish drum whose name is spelled a number of ways but pronounced ‘boar on’- in an irish group, to my own flute compositions. Musicians, true muscians do not use hype & flash & anger/violence as their means. No, at least for me & my peers, music is a profound expression of our human experience and our melodic tales & stories reflect that.
Can you tell I feel strongly about this?

    om shanti

  17. bomb

loves me some punk! bad religion, social distortion,, transplants, tim armstrong, bouncing souls, boxcar racers, greenday, weakerthans, distillers, dropkick murphy’s , flogging molly, living end, horror pops, motorhead, network, pennywise, rancid, screeching weasel..to name a few, dont knock it til ya tried it. all music is worth a listen. dig u “i am the one”, but many of the above bands have no safety pins or violence, just cool period. being a geezer doenst have to mean a closed mind! to each his/her own!

  18. Chellie

You feel strongly about everything, I think…& NO…no safety pin in the eyebrow, no odd haircolors,no piercings except for one in each ear, not even any tatoos…nothing weird about me except my taste in music. And no one ever said you weren’t allowed to have an opinion, they are like a-holes…everyone’s got one. My opinion is that you are a tad judgemental, since you think I have a safety pin in my eyebrow because I like The Ramones & think Iggy Pop ruled! I also like the Jonas Brothers…what’s your thought on them? Before you say…keep in mind that I do have a pre-teen in the house…that’s how I get exposed to them. I love all kinds of music, maybe even the same stuff you listen to.

  19. Chellie

Kisses to you bomb! Those are some great bands you mentioned! Glad someone else realizes that not all punk was violent!

  20. Grimm

I am not a fan of the Jonas Brothers. I felt it was time to step in and point that out.

  21. lizard

No piercings but I got the tats. Went to school with one of the guys in Bad Religion. Rocked out with some of the Glam Rock bands of the 90’s, pinched Axel Roses a** (sorry about that Axel I was a little drunk that night at the Whiskey), and I use to play the violin in the 4th grade. Heck, we are all a little freaky in our one way. Grimm I think you might need an intervention or so better drugs (just kidding Chellie). 20, 20, 24 hour a-go, I want to be sedated—( long curly hair flying around as I whippit around and show the sign of the devil)…who wants to jump into my mosh pit…whoo who

  22. lizard

I shook my head so hard I just had a flashback to the bruises I got at Smashing Pumpkins and the bracelet that got broke when I caught Axel when he stage dove.

  23. Chellie

Awww Grimm…The Jonas Brothers aren’t all bad…Joe is even kinda cute, for a 19 yr. old…& I did say I have a pre-teen who makes me listen to them, and eeks…Miley Cyrus! The things you listen to for your kids…just wait…lizard, I wanna touch the hand that pinched Axel Rose’s a**…you ARE the queen!

  24. lizard

Still have the bracelet and the new GnR album came out today.

  25. Adrienne

Oh boy…One, I’ve known that you’re opinionated since i’ve been checking these comments out…but I had no idea you were so ignoranant to think that fans of punk or maybe ska music must have facial piercings. That is a generalization…at least that’s my opinion. I love most of the bands that chellie and bomb mentioned. Chellie…The Ramones, Iggy and The Stooges, and Green Day totally rock. And bomb…Social D, Flogging Molly….and who doesn’t love Dropkicks!! Just because a style of music is loud and maybe harder that you’re used to doesn’t make it …”soooo violent.” But guess what…i’m also a huge fan of Andrea Bocelli, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Frank Sinatra…oh ya and Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Tim Mcgraw, and G N’ R. So what do I look like…do I have tatoos and piercings…or am I rocking away in my chair knitting a scarf for my dog? And BTW Chellie…I also have “…that love bug againnn”. Go Jonas Brothers. Ya…i have neices and nephews. And Liz….Axel’s bum!?!?..I’m green with envy…and at the wiskey no less…I’m not worthy.

  26. Adrienne

Forget to spell check so please forgive any misspellings One. I’m sure there are some.

  27. bomb

come on grimm, i spotted you in a jonas brothers tee the other nite!

  28. Chellie

Adrienne…Love Bug was on my MySpace profile for a while…along with Burnin’ Up…lol. I also like Gin-N-Juice by the D-O-double G!!…Tim McGraw is a hunk, & the new G n’ R is on my Christmas list…hint, hint…lizard is the queen, maybe she has pics of all those crazy things she’s done…still waiting to see her Vegas ones!

  29. Julie

I took my 10 year old to the Hannah Montana concert last December with the opening act of the Jonas Brothers, and I’ve got to tell you, they both put on one heck of a show!!! I was highly impressed at their talent and showmanship and Miley was sick as a dog and still put on a fantastic two hour show. Total, we were there more than two and a half hours…..it was worth the price of admission. Also, for the TFC band……..I sing, but I don’t play any instruments, so I’ll sing with ya.

  30. Adrienne

Julie…too funny…my dad had to take me to a New Kids on the Block concert when i was in junior high (mom came down with the flu)…he was all bent out of shape. But I’ll never forget him telling his buddies after, ” Wow, they put on a heck of a show.” There is definately something to be said about a live performance… no matter who it is.

  31. I am the ONE

Look at the reaction mentioning safety pins has on you all! Seems as though an individual cannot have ideas/thoughts or opinions that disagree with the majority.
Chellie? You 100% on the mark saying that I feel strongly. I prefer the word passionate.
Adrienne, where in my words do you find “must have” ? I asked a question. Look all the atention this has received. And, how many times do I have to apologize to Adrienne b4 I am forgiven? Reference her making a point about misspellings.
I noticed no references to Chellies stmt “omg geezers”? How come?
I also noticed no referencing my musical background, again how come?
What makes a strong majority of punk & punk related material violent is the content of their songs, as well as the way they (punkers) portray themselves.
I suppose every group needs someone within the group to attack, belittle and pick on. Well, people like Galileo, Columbus & Einstein are all in the boat with me as they were slammed, put down & chastised (sp?) for their thoughts and ideas. Just look what they brought to humanity?

you all have a wonderful evening

  32. Chellie

The geezer comment was a joke..I apologize ONE…but you DID say you were one, right? I also said I like all kinds of music…come from a VERY musical family…Grandfather, Father, & Uncle played in bands my whole life…Cousin went to Julliard…another Cousin is in a very popular band where he lives in Virginia…sorry you feel attacked, doesn’t feel good when someone makes assumptions about you for the type of music you like, either…not all punks were bad, and not everyone who listened to that music was a punk…you won’t find a more girl-next-door looking person than me.

  33. bomb

ONE, love how you get em all shook up! you would be the guy i want to talk to at 3 a.m. about robot poison and the “so called” moon landing ha!

  34. Chellie

    lol….bomb, you crack me up!

  35. Adrienne

I guess One is just FAR SUPERIOR. I acknowledge that you never said “must have” in reference to the safety pin comment. Boy…everything has to be so precise with you. (I guess it’s not a bad quality.) Saying… “I’ll just bet that you have a safety pin in your eyebrow, huh?” sounds to me like a generalization. I think that being able to express our opinions is great…but does it have to come off so abrasive. I will admit…I don’t like that through text, chats and emails… you can’t hear tone. Sometimes the written word is completely different that how we would say it. No one will probably even see this since there are two new posts.

  36. Chellie

I’m glad you’re my BF Ade! Kisses! :)
