Good Morning All! What a heart melting show that was Chip! It was rough pin pointing you out of the crowd of white hard hats. But I would know that smile anywhere. :-) AWESOME!!!!!!!
Sounds like freight trains rolling down the road here in Pa. this morning. And a mix of nasty weather on it’s way this week. That would be MARCH for ya.
Thank you SushiQ! Burk, I had on a white hard hat, a big grin, with black hair. So glad you guys watched it!!! Thank you all for observing the generosity we people have here in Fresno, CA. Have a Blessed Day, Folks!
Uggggggggggghh!! Mornin’, Y’all………….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…..Heavy, heavy baseball weekend………….didn’t get home ’till midnight……..up at 5:30 am….(snore)
Gonna start trouble now I think, but here goes:
Baseball needs a couple rule changes:
1) starting pitchers must go 7 innings unless injured in play; verified by MLB doctors
2) 10 second pitch-clock
3) One substitute pitcher per game unless injured in play; verified by MLB doctors
4) If the starter goes all 9 innings, the team gets an extra “Game” point for the win.
Baseball hasnt been a game for several years. I grew up loving baseball, I watched George Brett play for all of his career, and in my opinion, the game left when he did. Its all about money now. My son is nine years old. I am so sorry that I cant take him to a game . It isnt a game anymore.,
Your right there ken, I used to go with my father to every home game at Forbes Field back in the day in Pa. to watch the Pirates play. We would catch a streetcar to Oakland, go to the Original Hot Dog for lunch or dinner, then head into the park and always get the bleacher seats. Spent probably at most $20.00. And that was even the food inside the park watching the game and the program papers were free. Now, of course I know that times and prices have changed considerably to where an average family cannot afford to even take their families. SAD!!!! All sports have become the dollars signs and not about the sports. They have made it a competitive sport within the team members themselves. It is more that they are playing against themselves then as a team or a sport. Also SAD! If you watch a lot of sport shows as I do. You will hear the old timers agreeing that Sports today is nothing like when they played. Most of them even had to have part time jobs on the side to make ends meet.
Sure would be nice to turn back the clock and be able to enjoy sports for the, “GAME”, again!
Take me out to the ballgame game! Here we go Wolf! LOL!
You have to wonder also, how many players would stay in the sport for so many years if it were not for the money alone????? Is it for the love of the game or the show me the money?
Sheyenne, just watched these movies you might want to see, Invasion, P.S. I love you, The Kingdom, and The Day the Earth Stood Still. All were pretty good and held your interest. P.S I love you is a tear jerker. Hope it helps!
Will definately look for them. I like a good ol’ tear jerker once in awhile. I’m sure the video store has already been hit hard so I better get out there! Started snowing this morn. and suppose to be a full blown blizzard by tomarow. Kinda cozy though as long as everyone is safe and warm and don’t have to be out in it. Thanks for the info.
I could not agree with all of you more about sports these days. Even kid’s sports is totally out of control. On Saturday, my 13 yo son, who plays triple A baseball, played a team from Ft. Worth where the “boys”, who were also supposed to be 13, were built like a Mac truck, stood 5′10″ or better, had “puffy” faces (if you know what “juice” does to people) and were throwing 80+mph from 54.5 feet. THAT’s how competitive youth sports has gotten! HGH is running rampent in high schools, too. Remember going out to the playground and chosing sides for a sandlot game?? Now, THAT was fun!!!!!!
I know. I know. Talking like the generation (or 2 or 3) ago.
Our non-juiced team took 2nd place, though!! Can I go to bed now???
YO! Mornin’, Y’all!!
Oh, yeah, “Good night, Chip!” from last night.
How many of you remember, “Good night, Chet.” “Good night, David. And, good night from NBC News.”?? Just raise your hands. I’ll count. If you DO remember, it WILL show your age :-)
Ya mean back in the day when you could just turn on the tv and the kiddos could be in the same room no matter what was on! Yep, I remember those days! How about, “Good Night Mrs. Kalabash wherever you are”. Thank goodness, age is just a number. LOL!
Good day all – SusieQ I do believe you & I are from the same generation. You are absolutely right….age is just a number….. only sometimes I feel that number more than others-heehee.
Of course that’s only physically… now mentally……..
