I remember once while on vacation visiting my Great Grandmother in Hundred, West Virginia when I was just a young’en, that it rained for a good while and the little stream on the hill behind her house washed down the hill and into her celler,and the house too. I was around 8 or so, and it scared me so bad I threw up. This flatlander’d never seen anything like that. Ya’ll be careful up there Mayor SusieQ!
Thank You, gatorpaw! Nothing like it for sure, water rushing in and no way to stop it. And the mess of clean up afterwards. Silt is the worst and all the raw sewage. Our town is a real mess right now. Mother Nature is not to be fooled with!!!
You PA people & elsewhere that are having flooding problems. I was in a 2 floods in Graysville TN in 2003 & 2004, it was bad scared me so bad ( an I DON’T SCARE, till now) it was 1/2 inch from coming in the house but my back yard was bout 6 foot deep @ the deepest. Washed away most of my chain link fence. But there were many people that had it worst than I. Scared me every time it rained 4 the next 2 years I lived there to the point of panic. So now I live waaayyy on top of the nearest mountain just a few miles away. Long story short my heart & prayers go out 2 everyone of you.

When I was little in Honolulu Hawaii we had a hurricane come thru. Our family house flooded with water past our ankles. I remember all of us forming a line up the stairs to pass my Mothers sacred books hand to hand until they were all safe on the second floor. Then we took out our styrofoam surf boards and paddled all around our streets in the neighbor hood. Ah memories…..just make the best of it with what you’ve got.

An adventure for sure, we are hot and dry in Az but expecting an afternoon monsoon to roll through today! They are spectacular and can wash you away in less than an hour! I will baton down the hatches and ride it out with our Az storm coctail (creme de cocao and Vodka) and toast the lightning! Smiles to y’all :~D

Weather people are now saying that after this last bout (lasting another day or 2) we will actually have “normal” Northeast June weather. So get ready to complain about the heat everyone.
