I was in Az. for awhile this year and could not imagine having a Christmas without snow. Lived in Calif for a short while and just don't get a palm tree with Christmas lights. LOL! To each their own I guess. :-)
Don't get near the snow as when I was a youngin. We had feets of snow and still had to go to school. Back in the day when ya walked and had no buses. LOL!
Now they run commercials to tell kids to play outside an hour a day. Why, we were outside until the streetlights came on. Kick the can, Release, skating, bike riding, etc. And ya went to the door to call your friends out, never called on the phone. LOL! GOOD MEMORIES!

And how about a good game of jacks! :-)

Snow! What's that? I didn't see snow till I was about 15 and that was in Colorado in the summer. Well, I did see it way back when I was in the first grade, but it melted when it hit the ground. They let us out of school to go out and play around while it was coming down though. That was back in the 50's though. It snowed here again in the late 70's too, and you could see it on the parked cars and palm trees. VERY STRANGE!

LOL! That's one reason I don't think I could not live without snow. Gotta love a good snowball battle, at any age. LOL! And snow forts and snowmen! What's not to love! :-) We have thistle bushes that have thistle balls on them that the kiddos love to throw at each other. Not fun when the dogs get into them though. Nature, what a beautiful thing!

Of course when we were kids, they were better for throwing at one another. Little green oranges are also good for that. We really don't have any rocks here, so we substuited what was handy. Much to the dislike of my grandma.

I have a friend who has a whole slew of guava trees alongside of her pasture and barn. They will be ready to eat in Sept. They are full of seeds in the middle, that can be somewhat of a pain, but oh my are they good for jelly and pie, and even guava butter. YumYum! Great over fresh made biscuts.

Good grilled cheese with home grown tomato. E-m-m-m-m-mm E-m-m-m-mm-m ! Never have tried Guava jelly, but it sure sounds good. I do some canning and freezing, once all the crops are in. Our local farmers also give us a ton of fresh produce every year. Gotta love it especially during the fall and winter months. :-)

Last year I made a couple batches of strawberry jam with some fresh Florida strawberrys. They aren't as pretty as the ones from Calif. but they taste WAY better. Wish I had made some this year, that would go good on pancakes and waffles. My Guava jelly was so good that a friend of mine that I had given a jar to, kept coming back for more. I finally had to cut her off from the jelly connection. Don't blame her though, that Guava was killer good!

Had to settle for a grilled cheese with sharp cheddar here. Your waffles sound better though. Although, I must say, I make a pretty mean grilled cheese!
