  5. Michelle

  6. Anne

Good Friday Morning to you Susie Q & Mr. P & all the rest of the sleepy heads. Where are guys today??? Going to be a pretty day here in GA. this am anyway might have a shower later in the pm. Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!
My most memorable birthday was” Sweet Sixteen” our neighbor across the street from where we lived threw it for me. We had a cook-out, danced to the sounds, had a blast & thought we were IT for sure. Got my first piece of jewerly from a guy I liked .It was a black onyx ring surrounded by crystal stones. What was yours Susie Q?

  7. Mayor SusieQ :-)

I got my first bike on my twelfth birthday. It was used, but nevertheless, I was so excited! I couldn’t wait to go out and ride it. I wasn’t on it a half an hour when I hit a fence and bent the fender in. It was a Schwinn and it was built like a Sherman tank. :-)

  8. Mayor SusieQ :-)

Do you still have the ring, Anne? I still have a necklace from my first love. Ahhhhhhhhh, the memories! :-)

  9. Burk

G’morning all. No birthday stands out, never had a party, just cake and Happy Birthday sung by the family, but the ones I have now are the ones I’m thankful for, just because I’m still here. BTW what’s up with this freebie, how many times do you have to say NO!? Have a great Fri., and weekend everyone.

Due to regulations, your free quart of Glidden™ paint is secured by a special locking ring. Here are instructions for removal of the ring.

Ring Removal InstructionsPlace a pair of pliers over the outer portion of the locking ring and clamp down. Apply an upward pressure on the pliers until the locking ring separates from the container. Peel the remaining portion of the locking ring off by hand.

Removing the ring from the container typically causes the locking ring to deform. Therefore, the locking ring is non-reusable after its initial removal.

Still have questions? Feel free to call our customer service line at 1-800-GLIDDEN. Don’t forget to allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of your free quart of paint.

Thanks again for your interest in Glidden paint!

Mornin’, Y’all!! Well, Madam Mayor SusieQ, I would say that my most memorable birthday was when I got a sailor captain hat. I wanted it so badly, but knew that we couldn’t afford it. On my birthday, my mom told me to go clean up my room (on the 2nd floor). I did what I was told, but I was upset that I had to do that “on my birthday”!! About 3/4 of the way up, there IT was!!! I was probably about 8 then, I’m 51 now and I can STILL remember the feeling! We didn’t have much money, then, but little things made the world for us. They still mean more to me than the big things.

  12. CMDR_Dave

hopefully they don’t run out like that last candle offer…in for 1!

  13. Anne

I wish I did Susie Q. Those were good memories for sure. Thanks for the info on the Glidden paint freebie. You know, you’d make a good spokesperson for them. You Go Girl!!! :0) LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amen Maddog!!

Hi Y’all. I remember my 6th birthday. My mom’s friend, I called her Aunt June, made me a cake that looked like a gingerbread house. I thought I was the cat’s meow! I also got a black dog which I quickly named Bullet, after Roy Rogers dog. Bullet and King, (the boy next door ’s dog, named for Sky King) used to chase every car that dared to drive past our houses. One on one side and one on the other, of the front bumper. Many times Jimmy and I would lie in ambush under the tree by the road, shooting our cap guns at the passing bandits. Ah, those were the days!

  15. gatorpaw

Still no paint for me, but all my friends got there’s already!

  16. David

I suppose I could use the candle as a birthday candle! My most memorable Birthday was my 40th. All my life my family didn’t celebrate birthdays cause my stepdad was in this cult started by Herbert W. Armstrong! So I hadn’t ever really had a party thrown for me before! Cards and small gifts from relatives that lived far away. So the office crew found out about this and threw me a huge party, with hats and streamers, Cake and a rousing round of Happy Birthday. I had just started to have my eyes well with tears of gratitude, when someone burst into the room and said, “They are bombing Baghdad!” and everybody ran out of the room to watch the news and left me standing there, with the gift they had gotten me, a book of the worlds “Most Quotable Quotes”. Before that January 16th was “International Nothing Day” because nothing of any historical value had ever happened on my Birthday! :~(

  17. Anne

David, AH!! but something wonderful did happen on that day in January and that was your Birth Day!!! So here’s a belated Happy Birthday to you. By the way, have you rec’d my e-mail?
    Have a Nice Day!! :0):0)

  18. Coolcat

The day I was born, I was given to my Dad & we both had our picture taken & put in the local newspaper. It was Fathers Day. Out of the 9 children he had, I am still his favorite! :~)

  19. Mayor SusieQ :-)

Such nice birthday memories! :-) And your so right, Maddog! It isn’t how much the gift costs, it is the thought behind it!
Anne, I received an email on how to take the plastic lid ring off. LOL! Wonder if their hiring? LOL!
David, I bet you enjoy that book as much today as when you received it on that birthday! :-)
Coolcat, you ended up being the present on your birthday! How sweet! :-) Extra special on Fathers Day!

  20. Mayor SusieQ :-)

gatorpaw, I used to wear six shooters on my hips every weekend. And me and my friend Terry who lived next door would play cowboys and Indians. I had just got a new set of guns and he playing the part of the local sheriff had me under arrest and told me to drop my guns and put my hands up and reach for the sky. I started crying. His mom came outside to see what had happened. I told her I just got these new guns and I didn’t want to drop them because they were new. LOL! To this day, he hasn’t let me forget that one. LOL! Funny how some of the ol memories just stick with ya.

  21. Mayor SusieQ :-)

Burk, I’m with you on that thought. Anyone we see is a good birthday! LOL! Hopefully, we all see many more! :-)

  22. Maddog

    Hey, Mayor SusieQ!
That was such a great question to get us all thinking and reliving. And, it was GREAT to hear what others had to saw about their special day. Keep those stories comin’! And, any other questions to get the juices goin’, too!

  23. Coolcat

Chip- Did you & your son get to see Wolverine last night?

  24. Chip

No, we didn’t get to go last night, Coolcat. We had to take him to see his doctor instead. Poor kid’s got bad allergies and asthma to boot, just like the FULL-SIZED CHIP. He’s in bed right now, coughing and making sounds like the whooping cough, which he got twice this school year. I guess that’s why he came home from school yesterday and went straight to his bed. We’ll probably go see Wolverine when he recovers from all this stuff. Thanks for asking, my Friend.

  25. gatorpaw

I thought they had baby shots for that. Whooping cough is bad.

  26. Coolcat

Chip– So sorry to hear that. Hope the little guy feels better soon! :~)

  27. Mayor SusieQ :-)

Hey Chip, sorry to hear about your lil guy. That is a very scary thing. My youngest son who is now 20 had allergies and asthma when he was your sons age also. Many sleepless nights, trips to the hospital and missed school days. He had inhalers he used, and a breathing machine with special medicine to help relieve the symptoms. One doctor told me to take him into the bathroom and run the shower on hot and the steam would help to open his lungs. Came to find out after he went for allergy tests that the steam made the symptoms worse because he was and is allergic to dust mites. And the steam promoted the growth of more dust mites the allergist said. Just what I needed to hear. Anyway, he has outgrown the asthma thank God! Still sneezes mostly in the morning and coughs until he takes his allergy medicine. Our family Doctor said that he sees more and more cases in children every year. Tells you something is going amuck in this world. Seems like everyone you talk to these days suffers from allergies or asthma???? Hope that he, your son is feeling better soon. I know as a parent you would gladly trade places with him in a heart beat. God Love Him! :-)

  28. Mayor SusieQ :-)

Hey Maddog, glad you liked the question of the day. Helps us get to know each other a little better. And your right, it gets those juices going for sure. How about if you would do the honors for tomorrow and come up with the daily question! PLEASE!!!!!!! :-)

  29. Anne

Thanks go out to all of you wonderful people and your loving thoughts. Lil’ Chip seems a bit better. His “baby seal” cough has returned to a normal cough. He also told me he wants to catch Wolverine tonight at 10pm(local time). Yippee! And again, your wishes of wellness mean a lot. Thanks everyone! 8*)

  31. gatorpaw

  37. Maddog

    Mornin’, Y’all!
Glad to come up with a question for us all, Mayor SusieQ! How about:
What song brings back good memories with a former sweetie or your current significant other?
Now, you don’t have to supply any “details” if you don’t want. :-0

  38. Mayor SusieQ :-)

Great question, Maddog! One that comes to mind is,”The O’Jay’s,” Use Ta Be My Girl”! An ol flame of mine sent me the 45 years after we broke up. LOL! His loss! LOL! Nawwww, we have still remained good friends even after all those years goan by. Hubby and I have our special song, “Unforgettable”, Nat King Cole. And we really like the remake with his daughter Natelie Cole years later. Something to be said about gliding across the dance floor in the arms of your loved one lost in the moment and the music!!!!!!! :-) Thanks for the memories!!!!!!!!

  39. Mayor SusieQ :-)

Hey, Maddog! If you wouldn’t mind, would you please repost your question of the day on todays TFC for all to see. Some do not go back to yesterday. Thank You Dear Sir! :-)

  40. Chip

Hey Guys, thanks for sending all the love to Chipster Junior. He has recovered about 90%, and coughs only a little like a baby seal! Wolverine was awesome, too! “The love that comes around, goes back around.” Have a wonderful day, Friends. 8*)
