    “Just say NO” is naive will keep the drug issues in this country alive and well (works real well with teen pregnancy doesn’t it?). As an addict (painkillers) I speak from knowledge. Like alcohol: once and addict always an addict; just a question of cleanliness (I’ve been clean 35 years). I am telling you; “Just say “YES” is a better plan. Make it ALL available over the counter, not a liquor store, but a Substance Store. Like Drivers Ed one must pass an accept course of study to get a “license” to purchase…an actual card that says you made it through a class of the most accurate and vial information and pictures banned on the web. THEN if people are still inclined to kill themselves or ruin their lives, so be it; in the privacy of your own home. Unlike alcohol, keep it off the street and out of the bars and other public venues. Oh…no more welfare for addicts either. Die if you want too, you were warned and carry the card to prove it. This would also end the so-called drug wars raging on the streets and in other countries looking to supply American streets…end a brand of slavery of the peasants forced to work the fields. And before you get started on it, check the crime rate of Amsterdam (where ANYTHING goes) to any major city anywhere in free-world the world. Once it is no longer fun to “defy” authority, folks will turn from it….ask any teenager who turns 21 and it is no longer fun to sneak into a bar.

    Know what the worst part of it all is, Jace? I left my snow shovels up in Buffalo because I didn’t think I would EVER need them! If someone would have only mentioned “Global Warming” to me back then, I would have packed them for the trip down SOUTH!!! :~) I talked to my dad today and he told me to buy a snowblower. That I would be the only kid on the block with one and the neighbors would be coming over to see what the heck it was!! Now THERE’s an idea!!! LOL!!!!
    Wolfie, you have an interesting point there. I’ll have to ponder it some more, though. I guess we all need to keep an open mind but, having known a couple of friends that died because of drugs or alcohol, I’ve never gone down that road and beg my kids to not, either.

    Hey Maddog, I did landscaping for years and we used to use a back pack leaf blower (one with lots of blowing power) to blow the snow away! Multi purpose, leaves, snow, people ya wanted out of your way! LOL! Just a thought! :-)

    Also depends on how much room you have to blow it around!

    I use to do drugs, recreationally and enjoyed doing them. Quit pills and such 30 yrs. ago. Marijuana, 10 yrs. ago, but I am not oposed to legalizing pot!

    Pot is legal in california with a 215 card but every 18 y/o abuses it. they go to the doc and say “i cant eat, i cant sleep, i stubbed my toe” and BAM they get a 215 card and get to go shoppin for some smoke, i say make it avail to everyone and just treat it like alcohol, Blow has spoken… : )~

    We as parents, stay open to our kids with realistic education…tell them where we have been, things we have done, friends we have lost.
    My youngest of 5 kids are twin-23 year old males and I have not spent one penny in bail; not one second talking them out of trouble and not one thought that I ever would need to. They have both eyes wide open

    I think so bomb. The ones you start out taking for legitimate reasons, pain, whatever, and then become addicted to, I don’t call that recreational. The ones you do on Friday night for fun, that’s recreational. My opinion!
